Turcotte family offers reward

Family members of a Montana man whose body was found near Devils Lake in November are offering a $5,000 reward for information relating to his death.

Russell Turcotte, 19, of Wolf Point, Mont., was found in early November in a shelter belt 12 miles northwest of Devils Lakes. His death was ruled a homicide.

Michael Turcotte, a brother of Russell Turcotte, said the reward is for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Russell Turcotte went missing July 14. He was last seen at a Grand Forks gas station. He was on his way home from a hippie gathering in Michigan. He called his mother in Grand Forks and asked for $75 for a train ticket.

Russell's family, worrying that Russell's case might turn cold or never be solved, will run ads in local newspapers about the reward, Michael Turcotte said.

"We hope somebody would step forward or give a tip to local authorities," he said

[Note by HG: Inaccuracy in above. Russell Turcotte was last seen on July 12 at Grand Forks.]

That piece of red, white and blue cloth stands for a system and a country that does not honor it's own word...If it stood for honor and truth, it would remember our treaties and give them the appropriate place under international law. But it doesn't. It dishonors its own word and violates its treaties...
