Alfred Bone Shirt's letter to Rapid City Journal reporter, Denise Ross

Denise,

I hope your bosses didn't allow you to lose the story about Our protest in Pierre,SD. Remember I told you about our hunches about the way the racism in evident in the newspapers especially in western South Dakota, white Media suppression is very alive here in the Mississippi of the north.

I know we gave you very good interviews and information as well as great photos of the rally, We also did interviews with two national radio stations which aired our rally and why we were there..

I hope your paper didn't censor us completely. We can see very clearly that the Republikan name is synonymous with Racism here in South Dakota, Many of Our People carried signs to that effect of decades of racism at the hands of the white Republikan controlled state government, as well as the recent showing of Republikan white privilege on the slap on the wrist of wild Bill Janklow killing a man.I wouldn't be surprised if that is the reason for under reporting our event, if that is the case.

I am sharing this with Our People to show them that we won't be compromised, and if we know that the reasons behind it is clearly white racism. whether is by the white Republikan state government or white run Republikan spin mysters who run the newspapers. I think it is time Our People begin to question why Our stories are suppressed to the world. Your sure took every ones name and took every ones picture that was there at the rally in front of the state capital protesting Racism on April 22, 2004, yet you didn't do a story.

Sincerely

Alfred Bone Shirt 605-747-4443

That piece of red, white and blue cloth stands for a system and a country that does not honor it's own word...If it stood for honor and truth, it would remember our treaties and give them the appropriate place under international law. But it doesn't. It dishonors its own word and violates its treaties...
