DLN Advocacy Coalition Heating & Winter Survival Assistance Project

DLN Advocacy Coalition Heating & Winter Survival Assistance Project

DLN Advocacy Coalition is implementing a temporary emergency heating and winter survival assistance project to supplement what the tribes or state are not able to assist with. It is up to us to use our grass roots efforts to help our people with this type of emergency heating assistance with these much needed Winter survival supplies before another major blizzard devastates our areas.

Our goal is to assist those that always fall thru the cracks when it comes to receiving services with these much needed survival necessities. Our most vulnerable to these harsh and very cold winters are our Elderly and the people that are on limited incomes and those with no resources, who can t afford these items. The state of South Dakota recently encountered a terrible blizzard that affected almost every area of our State and especially our grass roots Lakota Indian People who reside on the surrounding reservations in this state and in our urban areas. Many of our people were with out power and no heat, plus they were not able to get out of their homes for days as the roads weren t cleared and many were in need of food and other items. There were babies with out baby formula and diapers during this time. People had to stay in some make shift shelters, as they had no type of heat or electricity to cook with or keep warm. Many of our people are still without electricity and water as it knocked out many power lines and froze water pipes. Winter has barely begun and our people suffered terribly during this devastation that the blizzard caused and we still have at least five more months left of winter to contend with. Thousands of electric power lines were snapped and broken during this last powerful blizzard, which had deadly consequences for many of Our Lakota People On the Rosebud and Pine Ridge, and Cheyenne River Sioux Indian reservations.

Those very concerned who would like to help, please assist with any monetary donations or gift cards, which could help get these items locally. Which would save shipping them here.

A Pay Pal account has been established along with a bank account at US Bank, Rapid City, South Dakota.

They made us many promises, more than I can remember. But they kept but one - They promised to take our land...and they took it. -- Chief Red Cloud

Tunkashila, Let us stand Coalition strong in protection of our lands, our beliefs, our Sacred Spirituality, and our traditional Indigenous ways of life. We stand in strong support of Indigenous Rights and the Inherent Allodial title of Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota Lands. Let us reclaim what is ours and work diligently to preserve what we now have.

End Dakota/Lakota/Nakota Ethnic Cleansing!

This website was created to Honor of our Ancestors, our Traditions, Elders and Children, and to provide a future for our generations to come.

That piece of red, white and blue cloth stands for a system and a country that does not honor it's own word...If it stood for honor and truth, it would remember our treaties and give them the appropriate place under international law. But it doesn't. It dishonors its own word and violates its treaties...
In Honor of Tony Black Feather (Died August 11 2004)
